For SAFETY AND SECURITY TIPS 1) Never allow people viewing your home to be alone. Always go with them from room to room. 2) Protect your credit cards. Don’t leave them where someone else might pick them up. 3) If you have an ad listing a telephone number, don’t leave home without having someone qualified there to answer calls. Oftentimes prospective buyers will not call a second time. 4) Keep a log of all people who call on the ad and especially those who visit your home. 5) Require all visitors to show a photo ID before entering your home. 6) Be certain that all jewelry and small valuables are well hidden. 7) Be sure that you know the location of your keys at all times. If one turns up missing, change that lock as soon as possible. 8) When showing your home, don’t wear jewelry that would attract the attention of a thief. 9) Never leave a minor child alone in the home, especially with a "FOR SALE BY OWNER" sing in the front yard. 10) If you have items of value in the garage, be certain to lock it from the inside. 11) When there are two or more parties being shown the home, be certain they stay together. 12) Never, under any circumstances, indicate that you will be alone in your home at night. 13) If someone makes and offer to purchase, seek advice before signing anything. Even though it’s only an offer, it could be a binding contract. |
